Yoga Therapy Sessions
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy uses the practices and offerings of yoga as a way to heal what ails us. I offer a gentle, and personalized approach that is supportive and curious about what healing looks like for you. While I primarily focus on mental health, I use an integrative model that considers all layers of ourselves: body, energy + breath, mind + emotion, intuition, and connectedness to the world beyond us. The mantra “go at your own pace” will be central to the process.
Yoga therapy can be a complement to traditional talk therapy, medication, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, hypnotherapy and other healing modalities OR it can be an alternative to them. It will look different for everybody.
Why Yoga Therapy?
Have you ever felt that longing for a soft, gentle and nourishing love? Through my own healing journey I have discovered that this nourishing love lives within us waiting to be accessed. So often we give others the kind of care we would like to receive and seek what we crave from others. While I certainly encourage caring for and receiving care from others, I aim to be supportive of you caring for, healing, and giving love to yourself. There is inner power, joy, health and revitalization that occurs when we tend to ourselves. From this internal well, we find abundant love and caring for others.

What happens in a yoga therapy session?
I am a nurturer, empath, intuitive, and human with lived experience. While I haven’t been through what you have been through I am intimate with the challenges life hands us. I know how incredibly painful living with hurt can be and the courage it takes to face it. With this in mind, I meet you where you are and hear where you would like to go. Turning our lens inward and going on a healing journey can be intimidating. We follow your lead, going at your pace and moving through things as you’re ready.
Before we meet in person, I strongly suggest a 15-20 minute phone call to see if working together is a good fit for both of us. Our first in-person meeting will be 90-minutes where we will take our time to further discuss your health aims. Using the yogic framework of the koshas, or layers of ourself, we will spend some time understanding where you are holistically and what makes sense to focus our energy and attention on.
From there, we will try different practices to see what works for you. This may look like movement, a restorative posture, guided breathing, a meditation or anything really. It will look different for everyone. At the end of our time together, you will leave with an attainable practice to do as needed.
As you feel ready, we can schedule follow up sessions to further develop practices that will support you on your healing journey.
